"'You shall not lay with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. ... Do
not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the
nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people.'" Leviticus 18:22,24-29 NKJV
"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise
also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their
lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and
receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." Romans 1:26-27 NKJV
"Do you not know that the
unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.
Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9,10
Marriage was established in Genesis between a man and a woman. God created Eve for Adam. He did not create Steve for Adam. I think I put it best when I was in high school - if the parts don't fit, chances are it isn't right!
God
did not mandate the Bible so that we can pick and choose what parts of
it that we were supposed to abide by. If God says it is a sin and an
"abomination" and death will come from it, THEN IT IS WRONG - plain a
simple. There are no gray areas and you certainly will not be able to
reason your way out of it when judgement comes. If it's a sin. It's a
sin. No gray areas. No doubt. No questions to be asked. Furthermore God did not
create equality for all men. There's been a battle since the nations were established over equality and slavery. There were times, that even though the Israelites were God's chosen people, they did not have His favor. They were forced into slavery and held captive. For His favor, you have to seek Him first,
repent and follow His law.
It amazes me how many Christians want it both
ways. You can't. Both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, homosexuality and sexual impurities are preached as abominations! In the Old Testament, it was a death sentence.
Don't get me wrong, I respect one's choice. You don't have to answer
for my sin. I don't have to answer for yours. But wrong is wrong and
whereas I respect your choice, I don't agree with it. And I believe for
any Christian to say otherwise totally negates God's word and what He
has called us to do and to be. We are to be stand firm on His Word and His Commandments. We are to be the salt and the light. And if we condone what is an outright sin, we are neither and we are a disgrace to His kingdom. In the end, we have let Him down.
